Let's try that again...First competition this Saturday...

(possibly a duplicate post - PC hung up!!)

I've entered the Northern Ireland Archery Society Indoor Target
Championships (Portsmouth) this Saturday. I'm an unclassified novice,
with only a couple of months experience, but my club - Kilmore Archery,
for any other Northern Irelanders out there - actively encourage
everyone to compete.

60 arrows, 20 yards.

First time we had a mini-comp at the club, I scored a lowly 416/600, so
it gives me something to aim for (pun intended :)

Any tips?

Thanks

Stephen

Any tips?

1. Remember your whites/club colours/gnas card...
2. Remember to mark your arrows
3. Check all your kit the night before... make sure you have
everything you need
4. Turn up in good time
5. Remember snacks/drinks may not be available, so sometimes wise to
take your own
6. Most importantly, relax, enjoy it, and don't try to hard...
no-one's interested in your scores but you.

Archers reference has a section on competition preparation ;o)

Yeah, pray you're not on a target with Peter Mulligan, shooting barebow, he
still puts most of us sighted archers to shame.
Seriously though, even though it's the NI Championships, it's still a bit of
fun, I'll see you there, and we can watch the winners collect their trophies
together.
