Boy am I glad you asked that.
I spend a few hours a day watching hunting shows on the "Outdoor Channel"
and "Verses"
I think I understand the thrill these people get when placing a great shot,
BUT, When these grown men (never women) sit there and giggle very loudly and
obnoxiously like a bunch of grade school girls at a sleep over, it sickens
me.
Taking the life of one of God's creatures needs to be done with the respect
it deserves. Screeching and cackling like a bunch of 8 year old girls is so
totally disrespectful that I find my looking for something else to watch,
permanently.
Doesn't bother me but some of my gripes are that every buck is a trophy or near so. We know they are hunting game farms but in real life, us hunters shoot a lot of little ones and game commissions prefer this to help cut down the herds. What annoys me most is when the shot is made and deer is down, hunter turns to the camera and continues whispering like he did when he saw the deer. Final gripe is, don't show the feeders and apples under the tree.
I would hunt the old way by driving natives thru the woods and shooting game on the run, of course an occasional native may bite the dust, but, what the hell!

We all from time to time watch TV shows and watch them hunting
and fishing. Have you ever said I am tired of this when they do
something? Or I wish they would do this. I would like some input
on what you would like to see or not see on these shows.
I would like to see more "common man" hunts and fewer visits to ranches I'll never be able to afford. Less of a guy in a box overlooking a food plot with 2 dozen deer milling around, and more of a guy finding the right place along a scrape line. I'm willing to give up seeing B&C deer harvested every half hour if it means I might pick up some pointers on finding that 130 class horning up our creek bottom. More prehunt backstory, scouting and planning.
IOW, less Texas and Kansas and more Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. But I'm biased

I'd like it if they did not call rifles and bows etc.... "weapons" Weapons are instruments used to maim or kill opponents/people in war or conflict. Not in hunting game for food. I'm not sure if there's a term for a rifle etc being used in hunting activities but "Firearm" would be better.

If you shoot someone with a hunting rifle they'll be just as dead as if you used an M16.
they're all weapons. you can kill someone with a bow, especially a hunting bow such as a heavy compound. -- Austin Shackles. www.ddol-las.net my opinions are just that Travel The Galaxy! Meet Fascinating Life Forms... ------------------------------------------------\
