Any particular reason you put the brake lever on the right?

Maybe so that the left arm is available for hand signals?

I don't know...I was riding downhill with a 20mph tailwind yesterday and
it was scary. Fun, but scary. My main fear on the fixie is still that
I have to make an emergency stop and 30 years of experience tells me to
stop pedalling. When I've done this before I've caught it by the time
the rear wheel is only 6" off the ground...

Strongest hand plus I seem to grab the waterbottle with my left hand...

My motorcycle has the brake on the right hand and I see not reason to
have a different location for a front wheel brake on a bicycle?

Fixies aren't dangerous, but bikes without brakes are. If a fixie without
brakes breaks a chain, you're in very deep trouble. Never ride a fixie
on the road without brakes.

Well, at least one brake. Broken chains, on fixies, SS' or regular road
bikes are rare.

I should have included the case where the chain derails. This has happened
to me.
