Do we all really want to endure Gibo's whining as Cunego rides away from him again? Do we want to see Petacchi try to break yet another meaningless stage-victory record? Do we really want to see Euskaltel riders chasing early breaks like Tenax and Colombia-Selle Italia were doing last year? I certainly don't.
I'd much rather see a battle among a rejuvenated Angel Casero, Jose Rujano, Emanuelle Sella, Julio Perez, Felix Cardenas, Francesco Casagrande, Pavel Tonkov, and Ryan Cox, all of whom are on Continental teams, and many of whom would not have a chance to participate in the Giro under the PT as-is. I'd rather see sprints contested by Graeme Brown, Jean-Patrick Nazon, Marty Nothstein, and Gian Matteo Fagnini.
If the Pro Tour teams boycott, we will not be worse off for it.
