Saddle sores

Charles Huthmaker 14 April 2005 06:09:18
 Hey all,

I am sure this has been discussed before here but I am a newbie.

How do you prevent saddle sores?

How do you get rid of them?

Thanks so much

Charles

Next week's lesson will be about using a cabbage leaf under your helmet to
keep you cool.

I had problems with them last year, but now this works for me.

Always wear clean shorts and get out of them as soon as possible after a
ride. Shop in the infant section of the supermarket. Get yourself some
wipes to clean off the area and apply Desitin (recommended in rec.bicycles.*
FAQ) before you put on your shorts. Shower as soon as possible after the
ride. If you get the pimple kind, lancing them seems to help them heal
faster, but be careful. That's a easy way to spread the infection. I've
never had any luck with cortisone creams (even prescription kind), but
that's what the pro use.

As always, YMMV

The buns look pretty good actually

The buns from the La Ferme 2 thread look better:

I'll supply my own meat floss and mayo, if you don't mind,

One of my ex-girlfriends referred to thongs as butt floss.
