I'm watching the hearings right now and it really seems like the comittee wants to go that way and to set it as federal law across the board for HS, college, and professional sports. I'm sure that it would be a massively reduced banned list, but Schilling and Palmero are supporting a single federal standard with real teeth. This is going to be a lot more interesting than I thought. Bill C

I totally agree BC. Funny that in all the local NYC coverage on the testimony that Schilling was never shown once (a funny thing this Yankee/BoSox rivalry).
The thing that I've been wondering about is this: Baseball is an olympic sport; weren't all olympic sports supposed to comply with WADA or else lose their olympic status? Shouldn't MLB then have to comply with WADA standards then?

Olympic Baseball in the US is governed not by MLB but by USA Baseball. Presumably, when MLB players are playing in the Olympics or other such competitions, they are subject to the WADA code.

The commissioner is playing stupid and pretending there is no problem. That is sending a message to all the players that it is ok as long as they don't get caught. When you have such a big mess to clean up you really need to start at the top. Time to dump the chump. ------------- Alex
