Does anyone know if any of the races involving Discovery Team will be televised (live or even highlights) on the Discovery channel? I know TDF will still be on OLN. Unfortunately, some of us don't get OLN in basic cable service.

I'm going to give you the benefit of doubt, and go easy on you here. That is pretty hard for me to do.
I don't think you understand the marketing/sponsorship implications raised by your question. Short answer; NO. Discovery Channel will not start showing bicycle races. They may explore the science of the equipment, or some goofy rip off you car and overhaul it, but not any cycling race coverage. That is not what the do.
They will use the sponsorship to raise awareness of the channel. Winning KBK last week means 20,000-150,000 Belgians might be inclined to turn on the channel. It is in almost every country in the world. I guess with a dish, it's in every country.
When the get news coverage in the US for 6-8 weeks around and during the Tour de France, they will hope (correctly) that it will lead to getting a few more Americans to check out their channel. Since probably over 1/2 the 280 million in the US have access, and their are dozens, if not hundreds of channels to choose from, you can start to understand the importance of BRAND recognition. Think Apple, Swoosh, Brown, etc.....
So again, nope. Get OLN, follow cyclingnews.com, or make friends with someone with a dish for the cycling coverage you seek. Discovery won't do it for you any sooner than Lance would have delivered your mail into your mailbox over the last 6 years.
Next time, I will probably have to get rough with you. Lurk a little longer around here. There IS such a thing as a dumb question.
