I can see why there wasn't a third M-30!

You seem to be on/near a campus, which is probably shutting down soon. Students will be graduating and, say to say, forgetting much of what they knew about using a bicycle for everyday transportation. Would it work to place a few "Wanted to Buy" ads around, and see if there's somebody who would rather sell you his bike cheaply than figure out how to get it home?

It wouldn't be hard to do better than the Motiv.
True, and I might try this. The problem is most bikes sold around campus are the Wal-Mart type which (like the Motiv) are too small for me. I'm hoping for a higher quality replacement to use for all my city riding, on and off campus.

This strikes me as so sad. I hope you get a nice bike before you're too> old to enjoy it.>
Yeah I have had some real trash. Actually, the Western Flyer, for as old and ugly and out of date as it is, is a good around town ride. And the the more I ride it, the more I like it. *old* depends on what you want to consider old? I see plenty of people probably into thier early 60's riding around and lots of them riding faster than me! So I don't think there is such a thing as too *old*. Look at Jack LeLane! Ken
I started with a trike too, fell off it one time, due to a faulty sidewalk and had a cast on my arm for 3 weeks. Candians typically didn't sue over such matters in 1965, so we dropped it, after letting the city know about this issue, it was fixed, but not until 1975.... I moved up to a 2 wheeler, 1 speed, 20" wheels had trainers for about 2 weeks, a few years later, was hit by a car once, but the only damage was a small dent in the top tube, and I was grounded for a week, moved to a 3 speed Raleigh, then around 1973 bought my first 10 speed, sold it to a neighbour in 1976 when I bought my Sekine road bike, bright red, Shimano gears, everything nice and light, cost me $400, a small fortune at the time, rode all summer, usually put it in the basement in the winter, to do maintenance on it. Except for 1981, when I took it with me to college, on the train, the conductor, a jolly old fellow named Chester, said "Where you gonna put that?", my reply "Luggage rack, and you just offered to help". The train is gone, Chester is gone, the Sekine is gone, sold in 1985 when I moved and didn't have space for it anymore. Haven't ridden since, but I want to get a bike again, and start riding again.....

LOL yeah but still he is well into his 90's and looks like he is in his 60's. Oh yeah and if you feel bad about me not having a *good* bike you can paypal me any donations that you would like. Remember no donation is too large! Ken

Oh yeah I forgot about mine like the *green machine*!
Huffy reissued it last year. Too bad I'm too big for it or I'd buy one again. > > 14) Ibex Corrida flat bar road bike. Got it at a 50% discount and it's> been> > a great townie/grocery getter/commuter.> >
I have been hearing alot about Ibex, but probably too pricey for me.
What kind of bike are you seeking? Ibex is very affordable, and I've been pleased with mine. I got it at the end of the year and paid $299. Normal list was $600. I think they have road bikes with downtube shifters for less than $600.

Oh no, they're nowhere near Serotta. They're generic Taiwanese frames, but that's way better than Chinese or a 'mart bike.

Well better than a *mart* bike! Thats not saying much! But they *look* okay. Ken
