I'd have to agree with Tony Greig in that this is arguably the greatest ODI every played - when the first team breaches 400 (the first time its ever been done), and then the response is even greater, and wins with just 1 ball to spare, how can you possibly beat that?
Congratulations to South Africa, that is the almightiest fightback that ODI cricket has ever seen and nobody can take that away from them. I'm absolutely stunned at the moment
btw Australia at one stage were $1.03 odds to win!

It is the same pitch. Indians failed to chase properly in world cup. They were too freaked out seeing 359 on the board. Some of their order bats decided to slog it out rather than try. Well done SA for showing how to chase such scores.

of course, mcgrath (2003 model) was not bowling today- think that might > have made a difference?
It sure does when your top order batsmen playing nothing shots or go about blindfolded slogs against McGrath (or for that matter any bowler). chasing 75 runs less doesn't make a difference however. Not that McGrath came up with scintilating spell. It is just that your top order batmen were too scared to chase 360. Hence the result of being all out in 40 overs
