With the first season success of new superstars like Micheal Hussey, Peter Fulton and yes even Mahatma Dhoni I was wondering which other modern day players (over the past 25 years) had similar starts to their careers who maybe did or didn;t push on.
Two guys spring to mind for me. Matthew Sinclair scored a 200 on debut and another not long after but never really pushed on. IIRC Mohommad Azaruddin scored a lot of 100s in his first season but could never maintain that momentum after that. Who else got their international career off to a great start.

you need better bait.> you're only going to catch the bony inedible ones with this stuff.
It's actually a fair question and topic, just with a lot of crapola thrown in.

Good stuff. And Rodney Redmond - he had real trouble maintaining momentum.
Chris Martin was another. He average 2.40 with the bat after his first season, but this later fell to 1.50.

off the top of my head Blewett started with 2 100s in his first 2 tests (might even have been innings) and finished up averaging 34 from 46 tests with a total of 4 100s
Brett Lee (tests) pre elbow injury had something like 42 wickets @ 16 or 17. Since then his bowling average has been over 35 and pushing 40 at times. -- "Hope is replaced by fear and dreams by survival, most of us get by." Stuart Adamson 1958-2001

Didn't Jimmy Adams start his career with a swag of runs? Things just>went downhill from there.
After 20 tests Adams averaged 68.73 with 4 100s and 8 50s His whole career of 54 tests gave him an average of 41.26 with 6 100s and 14 50s -- "Hope is replaced by fear and dreams by survival, most of us get by." Stuart Adamson 1958-2001
