Ganguly made too many mistakes in this series despite 4 years at the helm of affairs of Indian cricket.
To list a few in this bangalore test
1) didn't bowl Sehwag or Sachin on D1 when Younis and Inzy built that mammoth partnership 2) sent pathan, harby and balaji ahead of kumble in I1, got it right in I2 but too late, the damage was done 3) didn't bowl balaji even after Afridi was out in I2 and persisted with kumble, harby and sachin 4) Asked sehwag and co to play for a draw from the outset on D5

No......its all the fault of VVSL, Kumble and Balaji will be the final judgement from rscers.

VVSL consumed 170 deliveries and lot of time in I1 and scored 79 valuable runs. Dravid and Sachin won kolkata test with two centuries and two fifties.
Bangalore crowd congratulated ganguly with a placard that read "congratulations ganguly for doubling score from 1+1 =2"
cover [replace ganguly with Yuvraj in tests and VVSL in ODs] drive

Lefties had it really tough and that did not bode well for Dada. But, did he not play a pitch like this before? He looked novice. We wanted a Steve Waugh like performance from Ganguly. He failed miserably.
Me, I just think he should be removed from captaincy, no> hard feelnigs, replaced with Dravid - and then let him> fight for his test spot. Lots of ODIs now, he could get> form back. If he wins the ODI series, keep him at the helm. If he loses it then it is time to remove him and move on.
As to what *will* happen in reality - depends on ODI series> to be played now, unfortunately.>
Sadiq [ we'll probably lose ODIs ] Yusuf>
-Samarth.>
I am hoping that India will come good in ODI series and thus Ganguly will save his job.

He will probably lose his spot in tests, and retain it for ODIs. I'll> be very surprised however if he kept his captaincy. Dravid it is.>

Well, Yuvraj did have those two magnificent tons in Duleeps (was he> dropped during those innings?) although he did fail in both innings> against Mumbai. Kaif, as you say, has never done well. VVSL will do much better if the damocle sword ganduly is axed from the team and VVSL elevated to #5 permanently in tests and #3 in ODs. Indian team will have perfect balance if VVSL plays at #5 and ganduly at #6 is replaced by Yuvraj or YV Rao in tests.
Selfish ganduly batting at #5 ahead of deserving VVSL was a costly mistake in Mohali and kolkata. He realized it in bangalore but it was too late.
