Peter Svidler (FIDE 2735) is rated higher in chess than Nigel Short (FIDE 2674), another 'chess-playing cricket fan'.

Perhaps International Master Andy Martin has a claim on being the best all-rounder. Every year, the BCF organises a team to play a local side on the free day in the middle of the British Championships, and in 2004 he was the only titled player to take part. Match report here :
