	On pitches like these, where the bounce is variable and some short ones rise waist high and others rise to the head height, it is always going to be difficult facing someone like Sami. there is no cut on VVSL's eye, but there is a nasty swelling just above the left eye. I guess that if they can prevent the swelling from getting worse, he will be able to get out there and bat again. Vinay

Negative bowling? otoh wonderrful attacking stuff finally from the usually braindead sami . If only he had mixed in couple of yorkers (as I was expecting) it would have been fab. surely he had to bowl a yorker at karthik or lax previously. anyway fab Test match cricket so far.

Also our batsmen dont play the pull or hook with any conviction. They either try to duck under the ball or fend it off (for which there is forward short leg). So he is not being made to pay for this tactic the way, say, Gilly would.
