 Everybody from Warne, Muralitharan, Saqlain, Harbhajan , and now Danish
Kaneria - has come up with these "teesras," "secret deliveries," and
"special balls." It is quite incredible that they continue to do
this.... I mean there are only a certain number of things you can do
with the ball. Furthermore, there would be much more credibility to
these "special" deliveries if they were actually ever seen. Only
Muttiah has pulled one off - his "doosra"... whatever happened to
warne, harbhajan, and saqlain - I think Kaneria is just a loser like
some of the other cheating pakistani players like Malik, Sohail,
Miandad et. al.

It must have been in as much as batsmen found it surprising and hard to
fathom. The googly was a mysterious delivery as well when it first
arrived on the scene.

Were they touted as mystery balls? I don't know.
