So if the keeper is standing back and underarms the ball which rolls
towards the stumps and hits them, with the striker out of his ground,
is it stumped or run out? I'm sure this has happened a few times,
especially at the death.

On second thoughts, the batsmen have probably crossed by this time so
it would be run out ... but what if they haven't crossed? When does a
stumping turn into a run out?

How can a keeper stand up to a batsmen and manage to stump a batsman in
a TEST???

Stupid of both - I would say - unless the tailenders are going haywire.

IIRC when a run is being attempted, it is run out.
