Eh? I thought that *only* MCC teams toured up until at least the late
1970's.
Yes, but some MCC sides were prepared to call themselves "England" when playing against the hosts' national team, and this one certainly wasn't. While about 7 of the players in the MCC XIs against Pakistan would have been regular contenders for Test spots back home, the likes of Billy Sutcliffe, Peter Sainsbury and Maurice Tompkin were not and never would be.
