Lewis retired as the Linear Champ, but I was wondering who the Linear Champion is now. I have heard arguments that is would be Wladimir Klitschko, for his destruction of Byrd, or Maskaev for his ko of Rahman.
Who is it? There can be only one Linear Heavyweight Champion.

No, not the Ring Championship...I mean the Linear title...the man who beat the man. Yes, Briggs won it with his defeat of Foreman, and Lewis took it from Shannon Briggs. Lewis lost it to Rahman, won it back from Rahman, and retired as the Linear Champ.
With Lennox retired, there has to be a dominant champion who can be declared as the next Linear champ, at least that's the way I have always seen it. One could argue that it's Maskaev or Wladimir. No, not Tunney, but I like Gene to beat either of these guys

I'm fairly certain Ring Magazine had the heavyweight title declared as 'vacant' until Holmes beat Ali in Oct. 1980.
I think Lewis was the last linear champ, as he beat Briggs.

I'm also remember it being when Weaver beat Tate.
The logic at the time was with only two world champions and Holmes had already beat Weaver he would be the true champion.
Vitali's 2 defeats were injuries that were stopped by Dr.s He even retired because of injuries. A cut and shoulder seperation aren't exactly the same as 2 one punch knockout defeats, but the result was the same. They were both injuries that kept him from continuing his beatdowns. It seems we have a challenge going on here for the RSB regulars to view.
I am an Rsb regular. I'm one of you. There's no challenge. I don't see a challenge. Like i said, publish and book the entire thread for all the rsb regulars so they can get a dose of reality too. I'm open to a new fan base besides you and Koki! No need to apologize. Now if Loki had as much class as you this thread would of not turned out the way it did. "DCI" <never@comcast.com> wrote in message news:vn0fh2pgdsup0ooj1m6e5r4vbn1ak0sfg3@4ax.com...> On Mon, 25 Sep 2006 06:12:34 GMT, <yehuda@nyc.rr.com> wrote:>

I love this guy. He's funny and he's right, great combination.

Thank You for the support as i am badly outnumbered here. You are the only one that seems to recognize greatness. I appreciate the props and will pass it on to Vk. "Manfred Ginger" <mango@sofortsurf.de> wrote in message news:451C0AA3.8050601@offline.de...> yehuda@nyc.rr.com wrote:>
