hey, myron, another totally dumbass newbie question: where should the
stronger paddler sit in a tandem?

ree and i took our maiden voyage yesterday, paddling for about two hours
on the yadkin river in central north carolina, water that feels more like an
impoundment than a river. very wide, very flat. we had a great time, and
the speed of our boat ( mad river adventurer, 14', royalex) under moderate
paddling effort was surprising to us.

i am really looking forward to making cautious progress into remote and
moderately quickly flowing back country streams (but no real whitewater,
ever).

I once did a slalom in an old end cockpit c2 with a friend who also
paddled back right - we just changed the seat in the front of the boat
and confused the hell out of the judges!
