It is my understanfing that ferro-cement boats are essentially uninsurable. I've only seen one that was actually afloat. It is 60+ feet long and has an 8 ft draft. Not exactly a gunk holer.

A co-worker and his father built a 40 footer in the 70's. Heavy boat. When it came into the slip at the yacht club he had to toss a line around a bollard and hold on tight to bring it to a stop. Lots of momentum. Down below because of the mortar construction it felt like you were in a basement recreation room.
