PL Premium?

William R. Watt 27 February 2005 17:16:10

I've been trying to find the bonding strength of LePage's PL Premium and
PL 400 construction adhesives. There's nothing in the product descriptions
on LePage's website.

The PL Premium label used to say "our strongest polyurethane construction
adhesive" but it doesn't say that any more. Now it says "3 times stronger"
but doesn't say stronger than what. Both are strong weatherproof (ie water
resistant) polyurethane adhesives selling at different prices ($3.99 for
Premium, $2.89 for 400 locally).

The clerk at the builder's store couldn't tell me either (no spec sheet
for the adhesives) but did say the store brand of "subfloor" adhesive is
supplied by LePage and it's the PL 400 "subfloor" adhesive at an even
lower price.

 William:

I contacted the manufacturer a while ago and they were nice enough to send
me a spec sheet on PL Premium. David Beede has it posted on his web site -
http://www.simplicityboats.com/pl_premium.htm If you contact them yourself
they'll probably send you the one for PL400 as well - they were quite
pleasant to deal with.
