We went to the Chantilly Boat Show last night at the Dulles Expo Center near Dulles Airport and didn't come away very impressed. One of my main goals was to hopefully get a look at the new Crownline open-bow boat - either model 315 or 316, I don't remember what our salesperson at Shy Beaver (James Creek, PA) said. Anyway, there was only ONE Crownline dealer at Chantilly and he didn't have anything over 25' at the show and stated he would probably not even order a 315/316 unless it was a specific customer order. He then proceeded to (lightly) pressure me into ordering one. Fat chance !
Lots of nice ski boats there - the wife really liked the 25' Malibu. Nice floor design, plenty of motor (425hp 8.1L Vortec), and awesome music - 13 speaker system.

I went out there once and thought it a distant second to the DC boat show, which is 2nd rate, at best.

If you want to compare shows for those of us "ordinary people" (less than millionaires), Toronto has the best IMHO

I've heard the Bay Bridge show is pretty good. I'm going to try it this year.
24th Annual Bay Bridge Show Bay Bridge Marina Kent Island, MD April 21 - 24, 2005
Thanks for the info on the Chantilly show. I'd decided not to waste the time.> Now I'm glad I did.>
My Marina, Harbor Cove in Deale, was supposed to have some Anglers there. Did> you look at them by any chance?
We usually go to the Annapolis show (hate parking at USNA and getting shuttled !) but I've never seen/heard of the Bay Bridge show. We might have to check it out!
Travel Channel had their Top 10 Florida 'spots' this past week and the Miami show was mentioned (don't remember what number) so we've added it to our calendar as a possible trip next winter. Only 341 more days til it starts (16 Feb).
Only thing I know about "Anglers" is that they catch fish I am thinking that you are referring to a certain type/brand of boat. Do you have a website?

I go to about 100 boat shows a year, and this one falls about right in the middle.
I was asked to promote it one year (given my sucess running previous boat shows), but had to turn it down, as I was sailing around Australlia that week.

I'm not all that wild about the boats, but then I know little about them. The> manager at the marina says he'll give me a break on storage fees if I buy one> from him. I haven't done it though. I thought maybe you'd seen them and had an> opinion.>
Do you fish in the bay?
Thanks for the Anglerboats info.
No, we don't fish. We're recreational boaters and most of our time is spent skiing, tubing, or just plain cruising at Raystown Lake in PA. We've also done Deep Creek Lake in Western MD. Last year we even towed the Baja up to Lake Erie to spend some time w/ my brother's family - great trip. We've only been on The Bay once and it was 'ok'.
