California family gets back stolen R.V. April 07, 2005 - 5:56 am
"A California family who took a road trip to Toronto has it's missing R.V. back. The 31 foot motor home was stolen from the parking lot at Yorkdale Mall Tuesday afternoon. Whitby O.P.P. tell 680News, an off-duty Toronto officer is being credited with the nab. Police say he was driving Eastbound on the 401 near Thickson, recognized the vehicle and called O.P.P. to pull over the driver. The man in his 20's, has been taken into custody and charged with possession of stolen property. The family had two parrots, two cats, and a hamster in the motor home, the birds have yet to be found."
Yeah, sure... a likely story. They gave back the hamster and kept the birds? Come on.... everyone knows hamsters or even voles are worth more than mere birds.
I'm sure he unloaded the cargo of lesser value on the street somewhere. The Hamster he was holding on to so he could get top $$ for it. Sometimes you have to be careful when fencing the wily Hamster because most pawn shops are wary of undocumented Hamsters.

I've heard they trick them into sing the national anthem before they accept them. Of course, hamsters are easy to fool that way.
How many loonies do you get for a "mature" hamster, anyway?
