Justis Case

Td873 20 March 2005 00:59:30
Well, I just went to the SBE and met Jack Justis. He and his wife are
the nicest people.

Since I was in the market for a new case, and since he was kind enough
to donate a case to Jimbo's RSB event last October, I decided that I
would show my support and get one of his EXCELLENT cases.
(Dan White won the RSB Justis - I think he has a review here somewhere,
but I couldn't find it...)

Anyway, here is a link to the *ahem* AZ gallery of my case.

Thanks Jack!

Very nice Tom. In one way, it made me laugh. I remembered at the RSB
tournament when you jokingly, but with a serious face said, "he gets $2 per
stamp." You had me counting each tooling mark...

Enjoy!!!

Very nice looking case, you have there. I have been thinking, wishing
actually, about showing my support as well.

I've always wanted to meet Jack from way before he started making cue
cases. He was one of the best (if not the absolute best) thread
rod-wrapper of all times. I used to look at his designs in Advanced
Custom Rod Builing and drool.

I think you need more pictures... lol.

He informed me that he has a patent on a rod design as well!

I wouldn't be at all suprised. He's very creative. I spent half a day
once trying to emulate a complex wrap he created on a G.Loomis blank
and got to the end only to find I'd dropped a couple of threads
somewhere and everything was lopsided.

That's about when I decided that simple was better and I was building
rods to fish with and not just to look at.
