Start of a really bad weekend.....

T T 11 March 2005 00:15:10
Looks like I am off to a great start so far for the weekend.......went
to the nearby bar where I normally play last night and after having a
pretty decent night on the tables my cues decided to leave before I did.
I had put everything back in my case and put my case on the back of a
chair under my coat.......guess someone swiped it while I was in the
bathroom. They got away with a 2 month old Predator 4K5, a Predator BK
and my girlfriends Meucci 84-3 plus extra shafts for the Predator and
the Meucci. I live in a small town, under 5,000 people, so if whoever
snagged them pulls them out in a bar around here to play I should get a
phone call, guess that is the advantage to doing most of my playing in
bar leagues.......already called the pawn shops around here and I'm
keeping a look out on eBay as well. Thankfully both cues do have ID with
them in a location that most people wouldn't check out........so I
shouldn't have to worry about proving ownership if they pop up. I just
hope the rest of my weekend goes better......

Not that it'll probably help, but here are links to pictures of the cues.

Well.....it took a little over a week but I was able to get my cues back
this morning. I received a phone call from the bartender at one of the
bars that I shoot at letting me know that I should come up for a few
games. Sure enough when I walked in the door there was a pair of 20
somethings playing on the table in the corner, one using the 4k5 the
other one using the BK. Proving ownership to the nice police officer who
showed up was easier than I had expected, since they hadn't bothered to
take the small luggage tag with my name, address etc. off of the case.
Thankfully my cues are in the same condition as when they were stolen,
just missing a few pieces of chalk that were in the case.....

 That's great news!...
Please PROSECUTE... don't let the cretins off with a warning... I would
go so far as to post their names/pictures in all the local poolhalls I'd
attend... AFTER they are convicted.

That's awesome. You should PROSECUTE, at least do it because they were too
dumb to remove the name tag.

I DO plan on following through with the prosecution. It was kind of
funny when the cop was taking down the value of the stolen goods......he
just looked at the guys and told them they should have definitely stolen
cheaper cues.
