How so? 1991 was when Laettner/Hurley were Juniors, Hill was a freshman.
And if Duke kept its seniors in the late 90s, there would be a team of Brand, Battier, Avery, Jason Williams, Michael Dunleavy Jr, Carlos Boozer. and Chris Duhon. That's 6 NBA players, 6 starting NBA players.

Yeah, just think how good we could have been in '94 if Montross had stayed for his senior year to be on the same team with Stackhouse and Wallace.

Corey Magettee. And Avery probably would have had an NBA career if he hadn't left early.

Terry's a far better 3PT shooter than Redick.
Well, at least now that Redick doesn't have Duhon telling him where to go.

Speaking of which, I caught a bit of the Bulls game tonight, and Chris Duhon is exactly the same player he was in college -- good on defense, but can't hit a three, unable to drive, but still manages to find guys wide-open for uncontested shots. I can't explain it, or more generally how he's starting for a playoff team.

Edward,
Did you intend to put the double meaning there?
Bobby Hurley: has his career ruined in 1993 while driving his truck.
Jason Williams: has his career ruined (probably) in 2003 while driving his motorcycle.

Shhh...you'll summon Witzke.
Actually, that may not be so bad: Hey douchebag! That "Dukies haven't won an NBA playoff series" argument is looking pretty short-lived now that Laettner is on the Heat, huh? Looks like you'll have to come up with another troll...

Errr, Danny Ferry won the title two years ago. Actually played an important role in a first-round game, playing center (!) when David Robinson was out hurt. Scored 20 points or so.

*snort* Are you really going to hang your hat on Laettner as a member of the Heat? Seriously, Erik - that team is Shaq + DWYANE + some other guys.
Battier for the Grizzle was doing ok for a while (he's hurt now, right? I think I heard that). Deng had been a monster for the Bulls, but now he's hurt. Plus, he was only in college for a year, so he may fall under the Corey Maggette Exception. Duhon has not been that great, nor that bad, for the Bulls. But nobody who watches them would claim he's the driving [sic] force behind their playoff run this year.
I think Boozer was your best shot if he stayed with the Cavs. With Lebron to feed him the ball, I think he'd have broken the back of that particular argument this year. But alas, he's not with the Cavs any longer.

I'm not worried; within 10 years there will be 20 Dukies in the NBA. I'm just poking fun at Witzke's general line of "reasoning". The argument has morphed from "Dukies don't get drafted" to "Ok, they get drafted, but they don't make good pros" to "OK, they make good pros, but they don't win playoff series". Next, it will be "Dukies aren't MVPs who cure cancer." But I guess I can't expect much more than that from a Michigan fan posting from WebTV. Talk about living in the past on all levels...

Battier's NBA stock wasn't that high after his junior season. Staying another year really helped. He wasn't the type of player to leave early anyways.
I'd still take UNC's team in '97 if Stackhouse and Wallace stay 4> years. And who is Jason Williams starting for? Or Duhon?

No, I asserted that Lebron would make Boozer better,> not that he (Boozer) needed to be made to look good.> You took that how you wanted, based on your own> biases.
No, you claimed that it would take Lebron to put Boozer in the category of a driving force for his team. I provided evidence that Boozer is indeed a force in the NBA, in quality company for his stats, without Lebron. Alas, no argument could ensue with an idiot, as you were forced to allow that you don't really follow the NBA, though you felt free to make declarations on the relative quality of its players, teams, and playoff chances.
Who, besides an idiot would make such claims without support in fact or even familiarity?

Ah, but you didn't qualify your opinion in such a way, until I confronted you with facts and the charge that you were an idiot. Now your defense against idiocy is ignorance. That doesn't really help you.
Admit it - you are predisposed to take any non-Duke> fan's posts about Duke players and alumni as negative,> and you start preparing your ad hominems before you've> even finished reading (assuming you do, in fact, read the> posts to which you reply).
I read your post, decided it was inaccurate and ill informed. I saw an idiot blathering on about something he didn't know much about that yes, was a bit insulting to players from a basketball program of which I am a fan.
How can you possibly be viewed as anything other>>than an idiot?>
Perhaps if I were not viewed through your twisted> perspective? D*mn, but you are one screwed up> kook. Get a life.
I caught you out at being an idiot, and now you're trying to weasel out of the whole mess. We've dispensed with any semblance of your claims having merit or your opinion informed, and now we're just trying to figure out how mean it was for me to have noted that you are an idiot.

Strange. Knowing the definitions of the words I use makes *me* ignorant, while actually being ignorant of the subject at hand *and* the definition of the word ignorant itself sheilds you from it?
Amazing.

You've proven my charge further with your every post. It's quite impressive, actually.

Oh, so I must follow the game religiously to have formed>>>an opinion at all?>>

We've done no such thing.
Fair enough. To have done such a thing, one must actually believe the words you post, as those bounds have come, *verbatum*, from your claims. You are spectacularly idiotic.

Here's a clue, since you desperately need one:>
apathy != ignorance
Ah, a new defense against ignorance, wonderful. This time, since you don't care enough to be informed, you are in fact defended against a charge that you are not informed. You are quite a prize.

You've admitted that it was ill informed, and it was inaccurate, on its face, in that you stated that Battier was injured. But I suppose pointing out your errors is probably futile at this point.
