I don't know if either of these qualifies as a "long-time great", but... In terms of someone who consistently has good teams that don't get the big one, I'd say Bob Huggins. In terms of longevity, I'd say John Chaney.

Sutton is the only one that really comes to my mind.
If not for the fallout from Lenny Bias's death, Lefty Driesell would be on that list, too (assuming he wouldn't have won a title in the intervening years). He's only three years older than Olson and five years older than Sutton.
