This is the worst anti-weauxf I have read in months.

Wow...it's nice to hear some real Illinois talk in this group finally. Looks like it took tonight's win to finally convince some people that the Illini are for real.
Dee runs too hot and cold...I'm not sure about him in the NBA.
Deron Williams and Roger Powell...now your talking.

there is no way that UNC stays on the court with Illinois, but I doubt we get to find out. We have some talent but there is such a thing as having TOO much talent and too little cohesion. Maybe if Roy had another year with these guys, but I don't see it being this year.

After that last few minutes of defense Illinois played against Arizona I'm not sure I want to play them, either. Scary stuff. If they do that against us, I don't think we can beat them. Once the ball leaves Ray's hands we're screwed.

I'd sort of like to beat Wiscy. >

me too, but I think Wisconsin is gonna be THAT team this year.......the late round spoiler that plays their 'A' game at the wrong time. We know the drill.

How about we look bad in beating Wiscy?
If we play our best we stay on the court with Illinois. If they play their best they handle us anyway.
If we don't play close to our best we lose to MSU.

MSU really impressed me; of course, they only lost 6 games all year, so it's not like they were a bad team, but to listen to the folks on r.s.b.c., they were a bunch of chokers who couldn't win an important game to save their lives.
Duke has now lost five Sweet 16 games in Coach K's career, and each of the three previous teams (Indiana '87, Florida '00, Indiana '02, Kansas '03) has made it to the national title game. So at least it's heartening that when Duke has been upset in the S16, it's been to teams that were clearly very good.

I agree with both assessments.
I'm kinda horrified by the toughness of the three teams that made it though OTs to get to St. Louis. I think UNC can play at that level, but those three have proved that they are playing at that level right now.

No, it's because by beating Dook, they inherit the easy path to the championship game that the committee set up for Dook

Math is hard. At least I managed to do "each ... has" properly.

Your point is well taken: UNC has showed nothing much, so far. They had only two nontrivial games, against Villanova and Wisconsin, and they almost lost the former and were stretched to win the second. And theirs was the easiest path by far.
The other 3 Final Four teams are much better competition than what UNC has seen. (Although Villanova comes close.)
