Yeah, but I had to leave the hotel at 6:15pm and didn't get back here until 1:30am to see both games thanks to wonderful tournament scheduling. That's why *I* am cranky, but I don't think I've posted anything cranky.
They should be happy.
Relieved is more like it.
The ACC champs lost to a very good MSU team. No excuses - MSU was better.
Great. Didn't get to see it, and I can't say I'm incredibly happy UNC is the last ACC team standing in the final 8.
I hope Carolina wins it all - but if they don't - we do not want to hear > a can of "we wuzz robbed."
I hope we don't hear that, either. I'm not sure why you would think we would based on what we've seen.
Villanova could be saying that now - but they aren't.
Uh, I don't know if it's ABC fans or Villanova fans, but there have been a LOT of people saying Villanova was robbed on this forum. You may have set a new record for revisionist history here on RSBC.

People can say what they want, but the traveling call was clearly correct. The shooter traveled on his first step towards the basket.
Revisionist history - Nova and Big East fans booing and saying "we wuz robbed." It's pathetic when you have to base your loss on any such factor.

thanks for being so gracious about being out of the tourney when the Heels are still in it, harry. I'm impressed that you are supporting us even though even if we lose, we will still have gotten farther than your team did. That means a lot, knowing that you don't give much weight to the regular season, and that the tournament is all that really matters to you.
Speaking of which, are you taking advantage of all that extra time you found yourself with to admire your fantastic ACC championship? In a way I guess it's fortunate that you 'found' the chance to do that. I am a little surprised that you have taken the time away from doing that to admire the Heels as well, but your adulation is certainly welcome.
I've been thinking about the loss to Mich. State, and I think maybe they are actually better than we thought, maybe even as good as a four seed. I can't tell you how impressed I am that you are not bitter about having underachieved ( that is so much better than saying 'choked') in losing to them, and that you are in spite of that nice enough to still wish us well.
I'm sure dook will eventually be very good again too.

Dear GD -
You have misunderstood me. Do I have to repeat my opinion - one more time? Some on the group are sick of hearing it - but here it goes.
I said that the ACC teams got together and said the ACC trophy goes to the winner of the ACC Tournament. They did this before the season started. They do not award a trophy for the "regular season best record." Any trophy that UNC gets for that this year will be given to them by themselves. I just go along with the ACC leaders when I say that the trophy that is recognized by the league is the winner of the ACC tournament.
I am glad Carolina is doing well in the NCAA thingy. It is important too - if you win it all. But right now Carolina has nothing but a one point win over Villanova - a good team - but not great. If Carolina loses one of the next three games - they join Duke as one of the 63/64 losers. They will have nothing to show for the season more than Duke - except Roy wearing a net around his neck for barely beating a cinderella Duke team at home. Duke is the 2005 ACC Champ - no carping by you or me can take it away.
I hope Carolina wins it all - it will be good for the ACC - good for Duke - good for my family. My wife works at an ACC school and my son graduated from Duke and got a doctorate from another ACC school - Miami. My other son is attending grad school at another ACC school. Carolina deserves an honor after five years of purgatory caused by selfish Dean. Carolina's win helps me so I am for it - after Duke of course
I repeat - Duke is the real ACC champs - Carolina has nothing yet - nothing. I hope by next weekend they have something to show for having the best six athletes since the beginning of time. Duke will have to settle for being the ACC champs - not a bad deal when they picked to finish 4th by all the pundits and Carolina fans in the world. Duke - a team stripped by the NBA and illness. We are proud of what Duke has done. Why can't Carolina fans be happy with their team's success - especially if they win a title - any real title.

Good trophy Harry. We won the regular season championship but we don't actually get a shiny little googah for that>

Harry, I wouldn't take away your little ACC thingy for all the final four trips in the history of the game. You know, that darn Roy was doing the old net-cutting thing again today. Whatthehell, let 'em have his fun, some say it's a kind of tradition of sorts, but I know how silly that kind of thing is to you. >

I am very happy with our success and don't forget, you almost beat those underrated Spartans as well.>

Harry
Harry, why are YOU so cranky? Aren't we just being good sports? I acknowledged how great it is that you won the ACC thingy, and when we get done with this darn NCAA thingy, we'll have time to admire it also. It shouldn't be much longer, by the way, but we did stumble somehow into the second round past your exit, so it will be just a little longer. I know you are very happy that we are in the final four of the other tournament that means so much to you all. I'm just glad you got the one you really wanted, and that now you have the time to cherish it.
When the NCAA tournament is over for us, I am going to take some time and revel in our regular season championship (without trophy thingy) and our trip to at least the final four. Thanks for being supportive.
Did I mention that we also get a T-shirt for that?
