Friendly shot clock operator bites Duke on the butt

Drew 27 March 2005 09:48:17
The shot was taken off the board, and rightly so, but that was just too damned funny.

Question - Does Anderson still get credit for the steal? Or do they just pretend
the whole busted play did not happen?

The last time Anderson was involved with a shot that was too late, it counted,
and was the difference in the game.

First half thoughts from a biased Spartan fan:

1) Sparty gotta hit that layup!

2) Nice jump, Daniel Ewing. Gotta give credit where it is due.

3) Nice job on defense on both sides.

4) I'm surprised at the number of offensive rebounds we've had.

5) I'm not surprised at the number of missed shots that led to
those offensive rebounding opportunities. :-(

6) Redick is *so* going to explode on us in the second half.

7) We've never led. This, too, comes as no surprise.

8) But we're still in it (though that could change)

9) If this game continues at this pace, it's got to be to
Sparty's advantage.

10) I need more beer.

That is all. I hope the second half is as good, and that
Duke doesn't just get medieval on our asses.

Drew

An anti-weauf that worked. Bravo!

He did heat up, a bit. For a stretch.

Did you notice the bull crap make up call on the other end just after play
started. Just when I think refs can not get any worse they just keep
surprising me.

*Was* it the right call? That is, what kinds of corrections does the
rulebook allow for in those circumstances? (I haven't felt like
checking myself :-).

And if it was the right call, how come they couldn't do the same thing
at the end of the Indiana-Charlotte game? (Although from something I
recall hearing, the problem there may have actually been a different
one.)

Why do I feel this reference was meant just for me?

The difference may have had to do with the coach that was in their
ears... ;-)

Because you are paranoid. :-P No, this reference was just because
the same player was involved.

Hey, just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they *aren't* out to get me.

Cartoon seen at a computer security company: Face of a man, rubbing
his chin, saying, "Sure, I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid *enough*?".
