News from May 14.

Olu Famutimi (sophomore, Arkansas, guard-forward) and Amir Johnson (high
school senior, Westchester High School (CA), forward) declared themselves
eligible for the NBA draft.


Mia 99, Was 95 at Was
Eddie Jones (Mia) had 13 points including 5-14 FG, 5 rebounds, and 3
steals.
Damon Jones (Mia) had 19 points including 6-13 3-pointers and 6 assists.
Dwyane Wade (Mia) had 42 points on 13-22 FG and 16-17 FT, 7 rebounds, and
6 turnovers.
Brendan Haywood (Was) had 18 points, 15 rebounds including 6 offensive,
and 5 blocks.
Gilbert Arenas (Was) had 25 points on 5-17 FG, 1-7 3-pointers, and 14-19
FT and 6 rebounds.
Larry Hughes (Was) had 15 points including 4-17 FG, 8 rebounds, 5 assists,
and 3 steals.
Shaquille O'Neal (Mia, bruised right thigh), Etan Thomas (Was, strained
abdominal), and Kwame Brown (Was, suspended) did not play.
Miami sweeps the series 4-0 and advances to the Eastern Conference Finals.
