On trading O'Neal to Miami after last season, Buss said he did not regret the move.
"Not at all. He's 60 pounds lighter in Miami than he was in Los Angeles."
Buss noted that O'Neal is suffering from a thigh injury.
"If he was not willing to get into shape, which he had eight years to do, it seems that the motivation for him to lose weight was to trade him. You have to remember he requested a trade."

As a fan, I wish the Lakers still had Shaq. They'd be in the playoffs right now.
But as a businessman, I completely understand Buss' decision.
"Earlier today, I ordered America's Armed Forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq ... Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical, and biological programs, and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors."

Well, if turning your team into a loser becomes a good business move for NBA owners then you can say goodbye to the NBA has we know it and hello to sports has cheesy drama. There is only one way to see Dr. Buss's decison to trade Shaq and that is in the context of the dumbest decision in sports history. Now, if you made the dumbest decision in sports history you would probably try to make it seem like a good business move also.
