Very "Special" Episodes

Archibald Q . Leachington 18 March 2005 09:23:52

With the rise of www.jumptheshark.com , this sub-genre of sitcoms has
gotten a second life, if borne not by kitschy altruism but instead a
perverse fascination with that which was done in dubious taste, with
dubious motives.

That being said, not every "Very Special Episode" from the 80's was
garbage.

In fact, there was at least one VSE that at once DID get me to think,
and at the same time, made me laugh, and not feel uncomfortable about
laughing in the context of a difficult issue.

I'm not going to name the series or the "episode", because I'm curious
to know if somebody else has that same "episode" in mind, when reading
this.

Oops, this is off topic and it was intended for RSFC, not RSBC.

Carry on.

Yes this is clearly relevant to college football, not basketball.

Well, at some point you gotta tell us in r.s.b.c. what in the hell
you're talking about. My curiosity is piqued. I just hope it doesn't
involve "My Two Dads."

Dude, I've got:

"Different Strokes", the Mr. Carlson (WKRP) child molester episode.

Was it the time that Jessie on Saved by the Bell was on drugs?
