Redick named ACC POTY

Geoffrey F. Green 17 March 2005 02:22:44
May came in second, Paul a (distant) third. I'm sure Chris doesn't
care about individual honors, just team success, and would just say
"nuts" to the award.

In Redick's case, he's only a "punk" because he's not on YOUR team,
so STFU. In the case of someone like, say, Rashad McCants, he's simply
a punk ... even a lot of Carolina folks don't like him.

I would call Redick a brat more than a punk. He crys and fouls and
gets free on moving screens and gets away with lots of hand checking,
but he's not a punk in the Rashad sense; whereas he loves to pout and
let everyone know that he's getting screwed on some front. I'd rather
have Redick on my team though, to be honest. He works harder.

Being a lazy man myself - I always admired someone with a good work
ethic. Redick's is great.

From a neutral (non-ACC) fan:

Redick = Spoiled Brat
Chris McCants = Punk
Chris Paul = Slimeball

Frasor, Ginyard, Green, Hansbrough, Marvin Williams. We already know one
of them will work, and I'm pretty sure the other four will. Heck, I think
QT works hard, he's just got a freshman mental block going right now.

I don't know. Losing all the time with the Hawks might take something
out of Marvin.

I had few skills - not much of a work ethic - but married above me - and
retired at 55 :-)

How could you tell all those guys weren't working hard? I always got > the impression Stackhouse, at least, took things pretty seriously. I thought Stackhouse was a very hard worker. And, of course, if you
want some more hard-working recruits, look no further than Shammond
Williams, who (crying bouts notwithstanding) impressed the hell out of
me with his unbelievable work ethic, which is really the only reason
he made it from a marginal high school recruit to freshman benchwarmer
to senior starter on a top college team to NBA player.
