News from April 4.

The NBA named Baron Davis (GS) and Reggie Miller (Ind) as Players of the
Week. Davis averaged 22.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 10.3 assists as Golden
State went 4-0. Miller averaged 21.7 points as Indiana went 3-0.

San Antonio signed Glenn Robinson and released Dion Glover.

Luol Deng (Chi) is expected to miss the rest of the season (including
playoffs) with a torn ligament in his right wrist. He is expected to
undergo surgery on the wrist.

Chris Taft (sophomore, Pittsburgh, center) declared himself eligible for the
NBA draft.

Andray Blatche (high school senior, South Kent Prep (Conn), forward)
declared himself eligible for the NBA draft. [thanks to Jed Tai]

The Basketball Hall of Fame announced the inductees for the class of 2005.
They are:
Players
Hortencia Marcari long time member of Brazilian Women's National team,
won 9 championships in various international events
including the gold medal in the 1994 World Championship
Coaches
Jim Boeheim 29th season coaching Syracuse, won NCAA championship in
2003, record of 698-239
Hubie Brown 13 seasons coaching in NBA, NBA coach of the year in
1978 and 2004
Jim Calhoun 32 seasons college coach including at UConn (in 18th
season) and Northeastern, won NCAA championship in 1999
and 2004
Sue Gunter coached LSU 1982-2004, coached Stephen F. Austin
1964-1980, 708 coaching wins
The enshrinement ceremony will take place September 10.
