i'm not sure why the NBA scouts are ga-ga over this guy. He didn't
dominate,
even against a mediocre-at-best Kentucky center duo, and even though the
refs were extremely generous with calls going in his favor. He looked soft.

I don't think this guy is going to take over the NBA. Perhaps 9 pts and 6
boards a night?

Can't teach height. Good feel for the game...good passer...great
hands.
Sure, he's a project, but he's a 7 footer. Hell, even Shawn Bradley
is still in the league.

If Detroit had passed on him, he would be starting somewhere.

"Extrmemely generaous" doesn't do it justice. I only saw around 20
seconds of the game. In it, Bogut went over Woo's back 3 times to score
2 points. A pity-swallowing-of-the-whistle like that /must undermine a
player's confidence.>

From what I've heard, he's more of a passer.

"Carmelo" is an interesting way to spell "Dwyane Wade."

Seriously though, would either of them start for the Pistons now???

I tend to agree. However, he is a very good passer, and that's
worthwhile in a big guy.

I think you don't know squat about basketball and this is yet another
example.

Bogut is very athletic and BIG! Since no one has figured out how to teach
tall yet, he has a genetic advantage. He is an excellent passer. He is
very good at catching entry passes in the lane and either finding the open
man or going to the basket. He rebounds, can block an occassional shot and
is very smart on the court. All in a 7 foot tall body. That is the single
most precious trait in a basketball player. The test isn't "did he dominate
against a medocire at best Kentucky center duo." The test is how effective
he will be doing the things you want a big man to do...and again..you
obviously haven't seen the kid much if at all before last night so as in
that other thread body of work matters. Bogut is the #1 player in the draft
flat out. He will be an outstanding NBA player and maybe a future All-Star.

Darko.

is old enough to be barely a Sophomore in College. Darko will be an
excellent NBA player.

Since you are actually stupid you should feel complimented that anyone
bothers to reply to you.

In a vacuum yes. To play forward on a defensive oriented, championship
caliber team, I'm not so sure.

Why? So he can warm the bench behind Tayshaun Prince?

I don't see the problem here. Carmelo is a better rebounder than > either Wade or Prince. People tend to forget that about him.

The dude play matador defense.
