That it would be a mistake to discount Minnesota's chances of luring Phil>Jackson to Great Lakes country.
In my opinion, Jackson might go to the Timberwolves, as they have more talent than the Lakers, unless the Lakers manage to move some of the players and acquire more talent to help Kobe and Lamar in the off season.

One minus with the Wolves is that, aside from Garnett, their core players are old. Sprewell will be 35 next season and Cassell 36. Jackson might have a shot at turning them around, but they may already have peaked. The Lakers' core players are much younger and have yet to reach their primes.

A team full of young players is a drag. The Timberwolves were young also at one time and never made it. I heard that about Dallas too and they never could do anything. I always hear that excuse about a team being too young and yet those young teams never seem to make it too the big dance even when they get some experience. I do not think that a coach like Phil Jackson wants to coach a young team(especially with today's young players) You cannot win a championship in the NBA by waiting for young players too develop their games. You win with hardened veterans who have experience in the game. Too many Laker fans thought that Shaq was getting old and put the future of the team in the hands of a young dude who did not go to college. It is wishful thinking to expect Jackson to come back now.
