One interesting thing about MLB.tv (also Extra Innings)..

..is the wide variety of announcing teams to which the viewer is exposed.
A couple of years ago, if you had asked me which team had the worst broadcasters in baseball, I would have said the Chicago White Sox, and that it wasn't even close. (Homerism annoys me. It's unprofessional.)
Since subscribing to Extra Innings last year and MLB.tv this year, I have to say that the Devil Rays' broadcasting team is just plain horrible.. to the point that two random RSBers could probably do a comparable job. The color man is a complete idiot.. he has the Roget's Condensed with him, apparently.. about 5 pages of it. Ugh!

I've gotten into this before. I prefer some degree of homerism - I hate listening to Yankees broadcasts where the announcers cheer every home run regardless of who hit it. Of course, I hate Sox broadcasts where the opposition is marginalized - a home run sounds like a pop fly with their emotion. The right way to do it is, be more enthusiastic for your own team, but put emotion into both sides. Remember, announcers are doing it for their home market.

Not to mention the fact that they're employees of said team. -- "Run support is a beautiful thing." - Greg Maddux

DeWayne Staats and Joe Magrane? I think that's the D-Rays team, although I hardly ever watch one of their games except when Huff and Lugo are at bat (they're on some of my fantasy teams).
I've had the Extra Innings package for five years now, and I still think that Harrelson and Jackson are at the bottom of the barrel. Although Fran Healy and Keith Hernandez on MSG bug me too.
