 Just to get some ideas.
In a standard 5x5 league that includes trades and waiver pick-ups.
Would it be best to go after hitters or pitchers?

Since there's 5 categories for each, I'd go with a good even split. Take
the best player available in the 1st couple rounds, then switch to get all
your categories covered was my plan.

I try to get a top notch pitcher or two

then worry about the hitters.

the other pitchers are all interchangeable

The only good stud pitcher around this draft is Santana. Everyone else
has issues -- even Unit. That means pitching overall is closer to even
than normal. Hence, I'd stack up on hitting and get pitching later.

the way to go is all sluggers, grab a top stolen base guy in 5th 6th round
and go all sluggers...

forget the 20-20 guys, get a podsednic and get dunn, manny, texeira, guys
like that...

it is far easier to get a good pitcher during the year on waivers then
hitters...

There will be plenty of good hitters on the waiver wire because the
pitching is so bad.
